All-in-all, the 2010 sports season around this household just took a big dump on my dreams of championships. The Braves got all of our hopes up, only to run into the brick wall that was the San Francisco pitching staff; and a few errors from some guy that no one has ever heard of. Then, there was the Dawgs, and my hopes of marking this decade as The Decade of the Dawg! I obviously started that a year too early, so 2011 is the start of TDOTD! Most recently, the Falcons kicked butt all season, and then get the turnover bug at the worst possible time. That and Aaron Rogers is WHITE HOT right now.
Needless to say, I've have better seasons to cheer for my teams. But wait, there's hope! The hardwood Dawgs are sitting pretty at 13-3 right now, coming off a dominant performance against Ole Miss. My thoughts are that all you bandwagon Falcon, Dawg, and Braves fans, jump on this wagon and get behind Mark Fox! This man is obviously the perfect fit to bring the basketball program back into relevance. Now, I'm not all "we're going to win the tourney in March", but I still think this team will make for an exciting next few months over in Athens!
Let's go Dawgs! Only two more weeks until national signing day!

Awesome Job Hoop Dawgs!
If nothing else, Mark Fox has a resilient team out on the court. Once Trey Tompkins gets his game legs under him, and they gel as a team, we could cause havoc in the league. It's nice to root for an under Dawg for a change...an under dog with a chance at winning something. I hope I can keep this optimism come March!

Thank You Mark Fox!
I have been quoted as saying that I am not a huge basketball fan. Although, I do tend to watch a little college basketball from time to time, and any chance I get to see the Dawgs play on the hardwoods I take advantage of it. The NBA, not so much! I despise everything it has become!
This year, the round-ball Dawgs seem to have ignited a new enthusiasm in the Bulldawg Nation! And for that, I say thank you Mark Fox! This man deserves all the credit in the world that could possibly be given to a head coach of a team that went 14-17. Fox may have put together one of the best sub .500 seasons I have ever witnessed!
I can't wait to see what next season has in store for this team!

Interesting Facts About the BBall Dawgs
Here is an interesting article I read today online. Mark Fox is obviously a big game coach. Now if he can only get the team to not play down to their competition, we'll be in business.
Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl predicted in preseason that five SEC East teams would make the NCAA Tournament field. That forecast is looking a little optimistic at present.
"It's got to play itself out because there's so many good teams," Pearl said this week. "Georgia has got three top-25 wins, and right now they're in last place in the SEC East. Is there any conference that has got a team like that in it that's sitting at 3-7 in conference play?"
Whole article here.

Fox In The Dawghouse With A Monkey
I don't often write about the UGA basketball team because I know that my knowledge base isn't quite what it should be. I do, however, read about the roundball Dawgs every time they play, and have kept up with them quite a bit this season. I think Coach Fox is beginning to build a program that the Bulldawg Nation can be proud of, but it's going to take a little more time than most of us would like for it to.
Coach Fox has got to shake this SEC road game monkey off his back. I'm proud to see the team playing so well at home, and I even bought my first basketball tickets in 5 years the other day. I will travel to Athens to see the Dawgs take on the Gators February 27th. Now, hopefully some of us fans will get off our butts and start traveling to see a game or two so that the team can have a little support on the road.
